art commissions
a last look at the xmas tree
A drawing commissioned as a portrait of a belated dog sitting in front of a Christmas tree.

Untitled dog 1
An dog drawing commissioned by a friend that requested me to create a portrait of their dog just in time for Xmas.

logo redesign
This is a logo redesign that I created for a friend and his music studio. His original design didn’t have enough musical notes, so I added enough to make the logo stand out with its ideal purpose. He approved this logo redesign.

Jeopardy! social distanced ces set
A commission requested by another friend who asked me to draw our favorite Jeopardy! CES set from 2009-13, but with added recent podiums and monitor from the current socially-distanced set. The 3D perspective is sourced from two screenshots of both studio set designs. Resulting in a time-consuming finish.

harley and jackson
A commission requested by a cat person that contacted me to do two kitty portraits as a Christmas gift for their family. This is one of them.

untitled dog 3
Another Christmas gift drawing goes to this portrait of a cute puppy thats owned by the person that requested me to draw her pet dog. With good practice, I used a 4H pencil to balance the fur texture with the shadow effects via both 2H and HB pencils.

Contour under construction 1
This was one of the two commissions requested by a person who worked for construction, and asked me to create two drawings of the Contour apartment tower. This time-consuming piece was sourced from a photo he took and I was granted permission to draw this for him

Hughes OH-6 Cayuse
A commission requested by one of the people that emailed me from my art gallery. She kindly asked me to work on this military helicopter for her husband. Her husband was a pilot on this Hughes OH-6 Cayuse helicopter. I did a lot of research on this craft so I can familiarize myself with the details I matched with one single photograph that’s referenced in the drawing.

Allen-bradley & oreos on S 3rd st
This is an idea that’s brought up by a friend, and she wanted me to include the S. 3rd St sign right next to the Allen-Bradley clock tower while an Oreo logo floating in the sky. She loves Oreos, and was fascinated with the clock tower off the same street.

Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird
This was a request from a friend I used to work with, and she commissioned me a grayscale drawing of this supersonic fighter jet, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. Her dad's favorite fighter jet. I googled many photos of the plane, and found a really cool one with the SR-71 flying above the troposphere towards the intergalactic part of Earth. It gave me an idea on creating the visual and lighting effects. The white gel pen I used allowed me to create contrasting lights surrounding the skies. It even helped me fix the skull and crossbones on the plane’s fin on the bottom left. Overall, my friend loved it, and so did her dad.

1967 Impala SS
This piece was commissioned and requested by a fellow veteran I’ve met, and he asked me to do a collage of his car seen here. While I'm no expert on classic cars, this was the most time-consuming piece I’ve drawn, and knowing that it was also another challenging one to work with. Of course, both the veteran and I were satisfied with the final product.

untitled cat 2
This is a bigger piece drawn for one of the people at work that commissioned me a drawing of his cat. It’s all done with a photogenic approach, and it’s focused solely on the cat while the background is simplified with little details.

retired badge
A personalized art commission for a family member who had retired from the Chicago Police Department after 30-years of service.

a festive german Shepard
A family art commission of an owner's German Shepard wearing a Christmas sweater for the holidays.

Untitled dog 2
Another dog drawing commissioned by the same friend that requested me to create a portrait of their other dog just in time for Xmas.

army missiles at work
An art commission requested by a former colleague who was fascinated with a photograph of army missiles underneath four men in the same position. This was my first military drawing done like this, and the payoff is met by the commissioner's expectations.

USS Leonard F. Mason (DD 852)
I was approached by a veteran who requested me a drawing on a destroyer, and it’s the exact ship he served for a period of time. The USS Leonard F. Mason was a Gearing-class destroyer that was commissioned a year after WWII ended. She was named after a heroic private first-class, and served in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War until her decommissioning in 1976. In 1978, the ship was later sold to the Chinese government, and recommissioned under the new name “Shuei Yang”. She sailed until early 2000, and was reefed off the coast of Taiwan in 2003.

Tigre and critter
Another commission requested by the same cat person that contacted me to do this kitty portrait for their family as part of their Christmas gift.

untitled cat
A commission requested by another cat owner that was impressed with my lineup of art, and loved the whole result of this drawing of her cat.

Contour under construction 2
This was the second commission requested by the same person who worked for construction, and asked me to create this drawings of the Contour apartment tower in its snowy atmosphere. I was given a photo of what the Contour looked like before it towered the entire edge of the shoreline. I studied hundreds and hundreds of tiny details with this drawing, and all that hard work paid off handsomely. It wasn’t an easy task, but I felt that I did the impossible.

Messerschmidt Me 262
A person at work requested me an art commission for a drawing of his favorite German plane, the Messerschmidt Me 262. While I got to familiarize myself with the plane, he and I discussed about his fascination with other WWII German planes, and how he wanted me to work around with the drawing he requested. So I searched specific photographs of the Me 262 in order to give it depth and details in the center. Then I added the JU-87 (another favorite of his) on the left, and the P-51 Mustang being shot down by the other two Me 262 gunner variants. Not to mention, I changed their symbols from the swastika to the Iron Cross upon the commissioner's request. Needless to say, these planes were my first time drawing them. Via his request, I included the German mountains that go by the name the Bavarian Alps. The background is heavily based on true stories involving pilots fight each other high above the Bavarian Alps. The idea came from the commissioner who wanted me to depict this drawing since he visited the Alps, and how he loved the mountainous views where he stayed during his family visit. Finally, to add the final touch for his drawing, he asked me to include the phrase “Gott Mit Uns”, meaning “God With Us” in old Prussian used in two world wars.

anime fighter
A requested commission representing an unnamed, original anime character and his dragon as a companion that fights with him.

USS Sylvania (AFS-2)
A commissioned drawing of the Mars-class combat stores ship built in the early 1960s, and decommissioned in 1994. The ship’s purpose was to transfer goods and replenishments with cargo full of itineraries like munitions and fuel while underway with one ship to another. Including a hanger for UH-46 helicopters. These fleet of ships were later replaced by the Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ships in 2006, and they served the same duty with advanced technology.

two cats on a bed
Another feline drawing of two kitties commissioned by the same person that requested me his first one with his white cat laying next to a TV remote. This one is his two other cats that are from two separate photos into one. I’m really happy with the result as well as his positive reaction.

untitled cat 3
This one was commissioned by the same person, and he is indeed a cat-person like I am. The drawing I did started off with a series of scalings with the face, the body, and the blanket. I used shades of pale gray red, black, white, and warm gray to give the cat a furry look. Going as far as improvements go, I made her look soft looking with her patterns and her tan belly. The background is simplified with purples, lavenders, and lilacs that would give the cat a spotlight to the drawing, hence the effect made right behind her.
